finally inspired

well a picture tells a thousand words...advisory is suggested for the queezy...

a while back birdman wrote about dude with different stances at the urinal...well now its my turn to write about dudes taking a deuce...

Types:

Quiet dudes....these guys don't make a noise let alone drop a deuce until other dude in the bathroom leaves...this same dude also won't wipe until other dude leaves the bathroom as he is afraid of being seen...

Sigh Guy- There is nothing worse than walking into the bathroom and hearing another guy sigh or slight moan when one gets released. there is just something very unnerving about it...

Blows it out dude- there is always dude who just blows it out and doesn't give an F if anyone else is in the bathroom. You could be washing your hands and dude says whats up on his way to the throne...you then hear the flaps and drops with no care whatsoever...he just blows it out to the point where it sounds like it hurts...have some respect Blows it out dude

Guy on Cell - besides Sigh Guy, nothing can be worse than to hear someone on their cell phone while taking the kids for a swim. I'm sure the other person on the phone can hear the echos off the porcelain but dude doesn't care. He wants to dial his faves while doing his fav...

Please place your other observations if any....

Observation...and Mr. Stokes

I drive the freeway on a daily basis...about 50 or so miles with tons of traffic see a lot of the same people each day. Well I observed something that really bugs the hell out of me. I would say that two or three of the same cars I see everyday have GPS units on their dashboard. Are they really needed? NO! They drive the same damn route everyday and just want to look cool. "F" those people who have a GPS unit just to go to the same damn place everyday.

The Wrider Dos and I are probably the only two that recognize the above people in the photo. They were the Weather Channel's lead broadcast meteorologists. Well the Asian guy Bob Stokes and Hillary Andrews were both fired....why you ask? Well Stokes asked Andrews,"Will you lick my swizzle stick?" as well as made other sexual advancements to her. Andrews is suing the Weather Channel for wrongful termination...Stokes is probably taking a Stroke...and I'm still enjoying the Weather Channel

why I love me some family guy

Birdman and Wrider would know this better than anyone...I love me the random...I say random things that totally make sense to me and no one else...which is why i like the family guy...i swear i feel like someone stole my mind and made a cartoon of it...

anyways...this clip is the funniest thing i have seen on family guy so far...it makes no sense what so ever but i love it...i can only imagine what Seth MacFarlane was thinking when he wrote this...btw...how catchy is this song

my things

ok since everyone is doing it i thought why the hell not

Name one thing you do every day

Sit in 2 hours of traffic...

Name five things/people that make you feel good:

Head Scratching- I'm with Birdman on this one...no not the jock itch kind but the one where you can see pieces of your scalp rain down on you

Music- Everyone that knows me, knows i like me the music. I can think back to a time when I was a kid and the only thing that would calm me down after a big earthquake was music.

Watching a good fight - It could be wrestling, boxing, mma, or two drunk latinos at a Doyerz game but I love me a good fight. I saw two of the Best fights this past weekend literally an hour apart from each other. If you haven't seen it, google Frank Shamrock vs. Cung Le. This match totally kicked ass and would make an MMA fan out of ANYONE. Second fight I watched was Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels. Yeah wrestling is fake but this was Ric Flairs last match and the emotion behind it was so strong. Before Shawn Michaels ended the fight, you can read his lips saying I'm Sorry, I Love You then goes on to superkicking Ric Flair into retirement. The two immediately braced and you can see Ric start weeping right away. Google that fight if you get a chance also.

French Fries Who doesn't love French Fries?!?

Stand up Comedy Love me some stand up comedy except Dane Cook and any woman comic. Sorry but they both suck. My friend gave me tickets to the laugh factory once so I took the wife, her friend and my self to Hollywood. Big mistake as it was Lesbian Trucker night at the stand up. Dave Chappelle, Dave Atell, Bob Saget, Craig Shoemaker all awesome and make audio laugh out loud

Name four things you love to eat but rarely do:

Lobster

Lasagna

Steak

Mrs. Knott's Chicken

Name three things that remind you of childhood:

Huffy Bike I broke it

Summertime by Will Smith- Always jammed this tune the day school was out

Playing Two Hand Touch Football

Name two things you wish you could learn:

Italian- So I could kick it with George Clooney at his mansion when I go to Italy this summer

Driving stick shift

Well - that is about all I got and it was not easy......

The M...

I am coming back to the M!!

Will be in the M1 team as Senior Config Analyst.

See you soon.

Yeaaaahhh

Well...I haven't posted in a while...been working killer hours at work for our Audit that has been going on...so if i haven't been working 12 hour days, i've been traveling...Since my last post I went to Chicago and Frisco...Chicago was nice but it was literally 15 degrees and a windchill of like negative 5...I will post my pics of that soon...

Tomorrow I leave to New Orleans ....

With so much traveling I am going to sound like this guy pretty soon

To answer DOM Dan's question that wasn't me on KROQ the other day...Its funny because even though I knew it wasn't me, I get nervous when I hear my name on the ROQ...Don't know why though...I haven't called in sometime...If anything you will hear me on AM570's PMS show as I call into that a lot more than I do the ROQ...Speaking of the PMS show, there is a Zubaz and Stupid t-shirt party...I would be there but can't cause of the above mentioned travel...

Fookin Recap

First of all, the crowd looked WAY bigger on TV than it did in person. There were probably 500 max and it looked like 1000 people on TV.

Second, the Asian girl that one, it looked like she was told on the side that she won because when they came out on stage to announce the winner, she was all smiles and the other two looked bummed out.

Now the timeline...

Arrive at 1pm and see a line of about 300 people. A black limo bus kept coming by but they weren't picking anyone up hmm....

Around 2:30 they announce they will be taking us to the location...walking....they also announce Foo Fighters will be doing three songs before they go live and some songs after....kick ass, a full concert!!

2:45 arrive at the Nokia Live Theater and a stage is set up...looked way smaller in person..

3:45 still waiting for the Foo's to come out

4:45 Jason Bateman comes out and practices his lines...still no Foo's

5:00 We hear the Grammy's have started so i'm like cool, the Foo's should be coming out shortly for the three songs

6:00 Lady's and Gentlemen the Foo Fighter's!! We go to a commercial

6:15 or so..They introduce the winner who is the Asian girl...still no Foo Fighter songs

6:40 or so..The Foo's start playing the Pretender...John Paul Jones was there but no one really even seemed to care...so sad

6:45...Song ends...Foo's walk off stage...they are supposed to come back and play

6:50...Lights are all out and the stage is being dismantled....this doesn't look good

6:52...Security comes by...EVERYONE EXIT THE WAY THEY CAME IN

6:53...Everyone is pissed off! 6 hours of waiting and only 1 Foo Fighters song! No explanation...No Goodnight everyone...they didn't tell anyone shit...Just walked off stage and that was it

Fook You GRAMMY's...Shutup Dave!

Snooper Tuesday

With super Tuesday upon us I figured why not write about Snoopy. If you want to read about super Tuesday may I suggest reading CNN.com or Drudgereport.com but not here at 909pride.blogspot.com baby!!

You may say, captain random strikes again! Or, why the h e double hockey sticks is this guy writing about Snoopy. I am in SF again (zZzZ) and my manager has a picture of of this airplane that he wants to buy...one like avman has...well while he was gone today i switched that with a Snoopy one as he took on the Red Baron! (see below)

Ok now I know that isn't the real Snoopy / Red Baron picture but it is really close to the plane my Manager wants to buy.

Here is Snoopy and the Red Baron

Now I know what you are asking. Who if not Snoopy is the Red Baron?

Well they never show who the Red Baron is...and there are no waa wah waa wah waaa sounds. You just see Snoopy's dog house with bullet holes (he must live in the o.c.) When Snoopy's house gets shot up, Snoopy gets pissed, throws on a WWI hat, some goggles and a scarf then goes to war against the Baron...Snoopy also tends to yell out CURSE YOU RED BARON!!!!! FYI, the Red Baron in real life was a WWI pilot...in Snoopy's case I've heard its the cat next door.

For those who like nostalgic things, here is the first peanuts comic strip that featured Snoopy...enjoy

STP! STP! STP!

From NME.com

Stone Temple Pilots are gearing up for a reunion this summer when they will reportedly return to the live circuit.

According to Scott Weiland’s Velvet Revolver bandmate Slash, the band will get together this summer for a few shows, but no further details have been revealed.

Scott Weiland earlier this week reportedly told the Miami Herald that a reunion is on the cards in the coming months. Stone Temple Pilots split in 2002.

*****

I saw Velvet Revolver when they first got together...I guess they didn't have enough material so they broke into some STP and the crowd including myself went wild (I Came home with a ripped shirt). I can't wait until STP reunites!

Friday - Jack Johnson
Saturday - Portishead
Sunday - Roger Waters (Dark Side of the Moon set)

I would only go to see RW but not for $90 a day...BTW Kraftwerk's set on Saturday night is going to be done by Robots...kid you not

Third

Cloverfield was so damn awesome...Coming home I felt like something really happened to New York...And by the way...why is it ALWAYS New York that gets the brunt of all destruction...I think the last time LA was destroyed was during that Volcano movie which totally blew...

Go see Cloverfield!!!

I don't get it

I don't get why Toyota Prius cars are allowed in the carpool lane so they can get wherever they are going faster...Aren't these the cars you want on the road longer since they don't pollute the air...Give carpool passes to pre 1980 cars and hummers!

I like me some PMS...

The Petros and Money Show...

Their show PMS is very interesting...it combines sports talk with just everyday normal things and they totally pull it off...If you like Kevin and Bean, you will like these guys...PMS has quickly one of my top radio shows to listen to almost neck and neck with K & B...

Petros who used to be a tailback for USC trojans is one half of the duo...hes top of the game when it comes to college sports..he is also loud...funny...and sometimes plays the goof of the show...

Money is of course formerly of the Kevin and Bean show and is the man behind the Los Angeles Lakers pregame show...strong knowledge in all sports and style of comedy compliments that of Petros...

The format of their show goes something along the lines of this....

Every day at 6pm on their show they somewhat drop the sports talk and do some comedy bits...

Monday - La Lista de las Lunes...PMS ::clap clap clap:::..This is a list of 5 things ranging anywhere from annoying high school people to crappy movies that people think are good

Tuesdays - Fight Club Forum...this is something like that celebrity claymation boxing that MTV had on a while back...they put together two people and set up fight scenes between the two...

Wednesdays - Film Fight...Two films by the two dudes...one represents each...callers call in to see who wins...this week was 300 vs. Gladiator

Thursdays - Lance Romance...Petros' alter ego as the guy giving romance advice to whoever calls in...this is a hilarious segment...Petros doesn't even change his voice...i called in once because i can't dance worth shit...he told me go to a reggae concert and dance....the people there are so high they won't notice...

Fridays- It used to be a day when Vance Finance, Money's alter ego appeared and gave financial advice...its now turned into and I kid you not..." Fffffff " Their version of freeform Friday...anything goes...it is also Hip Hop Friday so they play classic hip hop coming in and out of segments...

I wouldn't doubt that if on April Fool's this year they tried something funny with K & B....its been a few years since K & B have done anything...

But seriously...give them a try...AM 570 or if you don't get the station...570KLAC.COM to listen live over the net

Two charged with making tainted 'bathtub cheese'
By Rod Leveque, Staff Writer
Article Created: 01/06/2008 08:19:47 PM PST

CHINO - San Bernardino County prosecutors have filed criminal charges against a man and woman suspected of producing and selling illegal homemade cheese, some of which was contaminated with a harmful bacteria.

Authorities say Floribel Hernandez Cuenca, 31, and Manuel Martin Sanchez-Garrido, 44, manufactured the so-called "bathtub cheese" inside a home in Montclair, and then sold it in an open-air market outside a Chino meat-processing facility.

At least some of the cheese confiscated by authorities was tainted with salmonella, a bacteria known to cause illness, Deputy District Attorney Jeremy Carrasco said.
"I think that the possibility that somebody could become sick is increased when people start manufacturing and selling cheese products out of their home," Carrasco said.
Cuenca and Sanchez-Garrido are each charged with a felony count of processing unpasteurized milk products and a misdemeanor count of selling illegal milk products, both violations of the state's Food and Agriculture Code.

The pair is to be arraigned Jan. 24 in Chino Superior Court.
Carrasco said an undercover police officer bought a round of cheese for $13 from Sanchez-Garrido on Oct. 20 at the market in the 7300 block of Pine Avenue.
Sanchez-Garrido then led police to Cuenca, who took officers to a Montclair home where the cheese was being produced, Carrasco said.
Authorities seized some 375 pounds of illegal cheese, included panela,

Two things

There are two things I can't really stand about Emeryville,CA...which is where i'm staying..

1) These things are supposed to be art work...

They are scary especially at night when there is a light beaming down on them...

2) The smell in the hallways at my office...It smells like an old lady's purse...I'm waiting for a pack of doublemint gum to appear in front of me

MNF

WOW!!!

Did anyone see that Monday Night Football Game!?!??! OMG It was probably the best game this season!

ONT to SF

Well im here in san fran looking at the beautiful view of the san francisco bridge and alcatraz...wasn't the birdman from there?

Anywho as I do when i fly, I sat by a window...looking from a plane, I realized how beautiful this Earth really is....we need to do more to take care of it...recycle..reduce...and reuse...and close the loop...remember that old commercial? haha

but like i was saying, I saw about three dry lake or river beds which kind of sucked..sucked because you know that one day probably not too long ago there was water there where the animals from the hills would come drink...not anymore..on a day like today where the sky is very clear, you can appreciate what this planet would look like with little or lower polution than what we put out...you could see for miles and miles...no smog lines...not factories polluting...nothing..just earth...i can only imagine what Ohio looks like...probably clear like this all the time...its no wonder why the Wrider is moving there...

Just take care of this Earth...we are messing it up pretty bad...

I'm really tired from an early flight so if this doesn't make sense sorry...oh and i did bring my chasity belt Birdman...and I have my keys attached like a janitor so they won't fall...

oh yeah..my hotel room is awesome...couch...flat screen tv...a view of the mountains..and a kick ass lounge....

oh Traffic...how do i hate thee

I left home early today to see if i can beat traffic; if there was any being Thanksgiving week...well..I left at 6:30 and I got to work at 8:30...yeah...didn't help...so since my week is filled with 4 hours of commuting each day, i thought I would post the following which comes from the Daily Bulletin here in the inland empire...

A Sig Alert, which is a warning broadcast by radio stations telling of unusual or hazardous traffic conditions, was named after the man who first coined the term, the late Loyd C. Sigmon.

Back in the '50s Sigmon was an executive at KMPC, a Southern California radio station.

In an effort to boost ratings for his station, Sigmon came up with a brilliant idea. He called the LAPD and asked them to telephone the radio station every time there was a significant traffic jam so that KMPC could broadcast the information to its listeners.

The LAPD informed Sigmon that their officers were far too busy doing things like catching bad guys and trying to keep order in a county of a few million people to stop and call a radio station every time there was a traffic tie-up. So Sigmon came up with a better plan. He proposed that the radio station could install a receiver that would be linked directly to the police.

Whenever a significant accident occurred, a signal could be sent from the police station that would allow the radio engineer to tap directly into police broadcasts of the traffic problem.

William H. Parker, the chief of police at the time, finally acquiesced and allowed the receiver to be set up, but only on the condition that all radio stations that were interested in broadcasting the alerts had access to them.

So while Sigmon did not gain the competitive advantage that he had hoped to achieve for his radio station, his system was successfully implemented in 1955. A skeptical Chief Parker was quoted as saying, "We're going to name this damn thing `Sig Alert."'

Sig Alerts, which are unique to Southern California, are now transmitted electronically through computer networks and are administered by the California Highway Patrol. The CHP will launch a Sig Alert if there is any unplanned event that causes the closing of one lane of traffic for 30 minutes or more, as opposed to a planned event like road construction.

The next time an overturned big rig or three-car collision ruins your freeway drive and pushes your stress levels to the boiling point, you might just want to head down to the pier in Santa Monica where you can slam your car into another car without having to worry about causing a traffic jam.

The Pacific Park bumper car ride is aptly named "The Sig Alert."

Re-Post

Sorry...I had to repost this

i have to say i left san fran on a sad note....if you havent heard there was a oil spill in the sf harbor area as a cargo ship crashed into the golden gate bridge sending over 50,000 gallons of oil into the water...the oil started drifting towards the area where my office was at and a boat came with these flotation devices to capture the oil...not more than 100 yards away from this were about 100 ducks and birds just kicking back in the water not knowing that danger and death were close. you see once the oil gets on the birds wings...they are unable to fly and eventually drown...so sad...

to go along with the sadness of the oil spill, i was reading my beatles book that i purchased while in SF...in it was a story of how the song Octopus Garden came to be. before reading this story, i always liked this song but just thought it was one of their acid trip dreams...anywho it is a real story as told by ringo. ringo was out on a fishing trip one day when the captain asked him if he wanted to have some octopus...ringo turned it down but the captain went onto a story about how an octopus lives its life day to day swimming along the bottom of the oceans floor collecting up shiny objects and stones to build a garden...crazy huh? ringo thought it was the happiest story he ever heard and thought to write a song about it...

Song of the Day..Octopus Garden - Beatles

I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus' garden in the shade
He'd let us in, knows where we've been
In his octopus' garden in the shade

I'd ask my friends to come and see
An octopus' garden with me
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus' garden in the shade.

We would be warm below the storm
In our little hideaway beneath the waves
Resting our head on the sea bed
In an octopus' garden near a cave

We would sing and dance around
because we know we can't be found
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus' garden in the shade

We would shout and swim about
The coral that lies beneath the waves
(Lies beneath the ocean waves)
Oh what joy for every girl and boy
Knowing they're happy and they're safe
(Happy and they're safe)

We would be so happy you and me
No one there to tell us what to do
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus' garden with you.

Back in so cal

well i am back in so cal thankfully...back to the beautiful smog and congested freeways!

i have to say i left san fran on a sad note....if you havent heard there was a oil spill in the sf harbor area as a cargo ship crashed into the golden gate bridge sending over 50,000 gallons of oil into the water...the oil started drifting towards the area where my office was at and a boat came with these flotation devices to capture the oil...not more than 100 yards away from this were about 100 ducks and birds just kicking back in the water not knowing that danger and death were close. you see once the oil gets on the birds wings...they are unable to fly and eventually drown...so sad...

to go along with the sadness of the oil spill, i was reading my beatles book that i purchased while in SF...in it was a story of how the song Octopus Garden came to be. before reading this story, i always liked this song but just thought it was one of their acid trip dreams...anywho it is a real story as told by ringo. ringo was out on a fishing trip one day when the captain asked him if he wanted to have some octopus...ringo turned it down but the captain went onto a story about how an octopus lives its life day to day swimming along the bottom of the oceans floor collecting up shiny objects and stones to build a garden...crazy huh? ringo thought it was the happiest story he ever heard and thought to write a song about it...

Song of the Day..Octopus Garden - Beatles

I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus' garden in the shade
He'd let us in, knows where we've been
In his octopus' garden in the shade

I'd ask my friends to come and see
An octopus' garden with me
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus' garden in the shade.

We would be warm below the storm
In our little hideaway beneath the waves
Resting our head on the sea bed
In an octopus' garden near a cave

We would sing and dance around
because we know we can't be found
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus' garden in the shade

We would shout and swim about
The coral that lies beneath the waves
(Lies beneath the ocean waves)
Oh what joy for every girl and boy
Knowing they're happy and they're safe
(Happy and they're safe)

We would be so happy you and me
No one there to tell us what to do
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus' garden with you.

Black Friday plus KROQ predictions

Not today...but the day after Thanksgiving when Christmas items should be on store shelves and not after Halloween!

Anywho, those interested in what specials will be happening can check out this site Black Friday

Be careful when you go shopping though because according to the FBI, Al Qaeda May Strike U.S. Shopping Malls in LA, Chicago.

I am saving money to buy a new house next year so many peoples christmas presents will be baked goods and a dvd with favorite cartoons and concerts courtesy of you tube. I found a program that downloads you tube videos to avi files allowing you to burn onto a watchable dvd. Southern Wolf and classic Beatles anyone?

Another sign Christmas is coming fast, KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas is going to be announced Friday. I haven't put much thought to who is playing because music has simply sucked this year...if i had to guess i would guess the following:

Night One

NIN
Tool
Serj Tankian
Kid Rock
Bad Religion
Avenged Sevenfold (New song sucks)
Jon Davis (Acoustic / Solo)
Social Distortion

Night Two

The Killers
The Mars Volta
Angels and Airwaves
Daft Punk
Feist
Paramore
Jimmy Eat World
Spoon

Im probably way off...but F it

Last night in San Fran

Good bye San Fran...it was nice to know you for a week...

Today I went to Borders and picked up a copy of "Let it Be" a book about the Beatles album with the same name. So far i have read 5 pages and its already interesting..

I noticed that black people complain a lot up here...I'm not one to complain about complainers, but when people come in to complain about a meal that they had yesterday, really...is that necessary? By the looks of things it looked like they went back for seconds. I had Denny's breakfast this morning and one lady was complaining about some waitress from last nights shift saying that her food was cold...come on now...then today at a hot dog stand by my hotel, another lady was complaining because she phoned in a combo order yesterday and then decided she didn't want the drink with the combo...well...the guy who worked there charged her for the dog and fries which came out more than the combo somehow...she came back to complain about the 20 cent difference...since the manager wasn't in today or yesterday, she told the poor teen behind the counter that shes gonna come chew the managers ass out tomorrow...shes waisted more that 20 cents in gas...or bus pass...or time walking...this place is pretty ghetto and i cant wait to get back home..

Hey All

Yeah I know I haven't posted in a while...

Well last week you know the winds were pretty bad...well they may have been pretty bad in the 714 but here in the 9....well add a 0 to that 9 and that was the gusts that we had at my place...90 mph gusts..with about 50 mph sustained..it ripped the roof off of my neighbor's porch and it landed against my house...at midnight mind you..it ripped off freeway signs like you ripping a piece of paper in half...a palm tree fell on another house...I slept 3 hours the first night of the winds...

With all the smoke and fires we literally had like no sun for a week...

Birdman..tell Reena I sayz Hello!

I took some cool pics

The sun beyond the smoke...Ash on my car...Traffic...Traffic (Keep in mind the last picture is only 30 miles from Los Angeles)

Sorry...

Hellllllooooooooo

Sorry I haven't blogged for a while...by the time i get home, im so tired of driving that i just eat, and sleep....sometimes i throw a little somethin somethin in the middle if you know what i mean...but the drive is really killing me...

anywho...the job is still going very well...had the ability to go on site to a location last week out in the desert at some billionaires house which kicked major ass...there are nice homes in the 9...well that was the 760 but close enough...the one thing i will say that i don't like is not having lunch buddies...i usually eat in my car or in the break room (Free coffee and donuts!)..i really can't kid around like i used to at the Merc either...so other than the hardly talking to anyone all day part...i still like getting out at 5...

Can someone answer me this...why does Chicken Fried Steak not have chicken in it? Shit on me today as I found that out...

I am a huge food network fan and saw The Gourmet Next Door debut show...for those that don't remember, Amy won the Next Food Network Star reality show which gave her the show i just mentioned...it was good and i can see her improving..the dishes are fairly easy to cook as well...but shes no Giada....

I had lunch with D-Nasty and her hubby a few weeks ago...we went to california skewers in pasadena...place is awesome and easily on par with that teriyaki bowl place by the merc..its chicken kabob with pineapple glazed with teriyaki sauce on a bed of steamed rice...Next week I plan on going to roscoe's

while im on the topic of food..i cooked a kick ass tilapia filet today breaded with macadamia nuts, garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, and lemon pepper...had a side of green beans, baked potato, and garlic chicken rice..mmm mmmmm

I got an email from Bean a few weeks ago...he sent me pictures from his trip to Italy which looked awesome...my wife still wants me to take her there after she graduates next year...maybe i will...or maybe ill just take her to little italy in san diego...

Hey There!

Ahhh...My first week at the new job is almost complete and I have to say...I wish I was back at the M....Sike!

Man I love my new job...The people and atmosphere is so different than the M (not you Birdman). Damn it is nice to finally feel respected and feel like an adult rather than a daycare center where someone is watching over you the entire time you are working. My Manager was down from San Fran for a training course down here, came in and shook my hand...Hell he wanted to take a few of us out to dinner on my first day...My former teacher who is now my Director is freakin happy to see me there working cause he knows the potential that I can bring. He knows my interest for this field. I am also getting put through some advanced forensic courses, as well as a certification that is recognized around the world.

Free Coffee...Arrowhead water....and popcorn....

Get this...I felt guilty for leaving at 5:15pm...why...because I am so used to people saying are you leaving already!?!? Stick around for a 6pm deployment..No more of those days...and when I do have to stay super late...thats fine cause I really enjoy doing this work.

If you love what you do...you will never have to work 1 day in your life...

Take care

Bye M it was nice to know you

Yesterday was my last day at the Merc. I had lunch with Birdman and a few others at JoJo's which was a spot we went to quite a bit. It was a nice time there followed by Happy Hour at the Yardhouse later in the evening. I will miss a great deal of the workers I worked with but will not miss the complaints and stress of the job.

Hopefully we will all keep in touch.

My Move

so I stayed away from writing mainly because I have been so swamped with work and other problems outside of work.

as some of you know I have not been the happiest camper "there". I finally got a nibble from a company in Pasadena to come in to be their Computer Forensics Lab Technician. The Director of the group, who was also my Forensics Teacher at Cal State Fullerton, highly recommended me for the position as he has seen my forensic skills. The offer was made on Wednesday and I put my two weeks notice "there". My supervisor seemed someone shocked but doesn't really to mind me leaving as there are already two other people joining my former group. I learned a lot while I was "there", but the hours were brutal, we got the blame for everything that went wrong, our suggestions for improvement were not taken into consideration, and the possibility for advancement was not there...I really lost my passion for Information Technology over the past year...

I know that working in Forensics will bring that passion back as it is Technology mixed with investigative work.

I will miss hanging out with the Birdman as he understood my humor as well as the others who I enjoyed working with. For those who know her, I will be working literally 1 block away from D$ aka D-Nasty aka Denyse who was also "there" at one time.

Enjoy

My Food Network Star

Where do I begin....My pick to win The Next Food Network Star on the Food Network Channel was kicked off last night. My boy JAG, the boriqua was let go after he withdrew himself from the final two spot in the competition AFTER Amy was already let go. There were rumors circulating throughout the Internet that JAG did not serve in Afghanistan and that he didn't graduate Culinary School as he had stated. He never really wanted to talk about his past and that is probably why. Food Network tried to give him a chance at a press conference to reveal his hidings but he didn't. F.N. eventually called JAG in for a meeting where JAG revealed the truth. I was disappointed as I wanted him to win, but when he lied about being in the service when so many of our Soliders are dying, that is just wrong. So what happened? Amy came back and is competing against Rory aka Gumby...she has huge gums...My pick has switched from the caribeaner to the Gourmet Next Door Amy....Good luck girl

Irons

Do you ever notice how when you use someone else iron to iron your clothes, their iron is a hell of a lot hotter and better than yours. So what do you do? You go out and buy that iron only to be bummed when it still doesn't get as hot as theirs.

Here is a picture of my Food Network Crush Giada

My 90th Post

On this nice humid day in Southern California, my 90th post has came upon us....It could have been more but I am just lazy...

This post is dedicated to the Birdman who is constantly making fun of my Carribeanerness.

I am a huge fan of the food network and yes I love to cook. In fact my next house is going to have a Viking Stove with a grill...

Well one of my favorite shows on the Food Network is called unwrapped. Last nights episode was dedicated to spicy things and one of those on the list was Beans. Refried Beans in fact. My wife always gets on my case because I love me the Rosarita Refried Beans.

In the episode it showed how the makers of the beans purchase the pinto beans, rinse them out to get any rocks out of the batch and then slowly cook them. Then then put them into this huge masher and actually have a level of mashing that they do! Then then run the mashed beans from a machine into another which puts the beans into a can and seals them up. The canned beans are then put into a heater type compression machine that gives the beans a 7 year shelf life! That's freakin incredible. 7 years!

Watch unwrapped as well as The Next Food Network Star. My pick JAG is still in the final 3 woohoo!

Flashback

Were any of you fans of Saved by the Bell? Do you remember that when it first aired, it only had Zach, Screech, and Lisa and it was set in Indiana....yeah like so many people want to see a bunch of teens in Indiana...Anywho somehow they switched schools and Zach Lisa, and Screech all ended up in Pacific Palisades at Bayside High School...

Just an update

The Chris Benoit tribute was done before it was revealed he killed his family. Had WWE known prior that he killed them, they would have not aired the tribute. Today Vince McMahon made an appearance on TV apologizing for the tribute and it would be the last time Benoits name would be mentioned...

What did you do Benoit....

I used to be a huge wrestling fan and even did behind the scene wrestling news for a website which included me being a co-host of a weekly nationwide radio show. We actually interviewed Chris Benoit a few years back and he was one of the nicest guests we ever had. Something obviously made Chris Benoit snap to kill his wife and child then commit suicide. I'm not sure what it was but he knew what he was going to do. If you watched the tribute show on RAW last night (before it was announced Murder-Suicide), you will see that Chavo Guerrero (nephew of the late Eddie Guerrero) mentions that before Chris Benoit left to go aid his "ill" family, he told Chavo, "I love you Chavo". This to me seemed like it was a final farewell. Why would he tell Chavo that? I told my wife that I bet you it was Benoit who killed his wife and kid then himself. Sure enough an hour later I read the headlines and thats what it was.

The Distict Attorney for Fayetteville county also mentioned in a briefing that the killings were a little bizarre. Not sure what this means either...

WWE.COM is also already taking down the merchandise of Chris Benoit and the tributes are sure to come down quickly as well.

They're Back

Mile-wide UFO' spotted by British airline pilot
thisislondon.co.uk ^ | London, Friday 22.06.07 | thisislondon.co.uk

Posted on 06/22/2007 7:27:08 AM PDT by Havok

One of the largest UFOs ever seen has been observed by the crew and passengers of an airliner over the Channel Islands.

An official air-miss report on the incident several weeks ago appears in Pilot magazine.

Aurigny Airlines captain Ray Bowyer, 50, flying close to Alderney first spotted the object, described as "a cigar-shaped brilliant white light".

Scroll down for more

Aurigny Airlines captain Ray Bowyer, 50, described what he thought to be a UFO as 'a cigar-shaped brilliant white light', similar to the image supplied by Dennis Plunket of the British Flying Saucer bureau

As the plane got closer the captain viewed it through binoculars and said:

"It was a very sharp, thin yellow object with a green area. It was 2,000ft up and stationary. I thought it was about 10 miles away, although I later realised it was approximately 40 miles from us. At first, I thought it was the size of a [Boeing] 737.

"But it must have been much bigger because of how far away it was. It could have been as much as a mile wide."

Continuing his approach to Guernsey, Bowyer then spied a "second identical object further to the west".

He said: "It was exactly the same but looked smaller because it was further away. It was closer to Guernsey. I can't explain it. This was clearly visual for about nine minutes.

"I'm certainly not saying that it was something of another world. All I'm saying is that I have never seen anything like it before in all my years of flying."

The sightings were confirmed by passengers Kate and John Russell. John, 74, said "I saw an orange light. It was like an elongated oval".

The sightings were also confirmed by an unnamed pilot with the Blue Islands airline.

The Civil Aviation Authority safety notice states that a Tri-Lander aircraft flying close to Alderney spotted the object.

"Certain parts of the report have not been published. I cannot say why," said a senior CAA source.

Earlier this year however, the MOD declared its intentions to open its UFO files to the public.

Rescue Me...Not

I am not a beer drinker but I know most of you are so I thought I would post this funny and true story I came across that took place in Australia:

Emergency workers have come to the rescue of a town cut off by floodwaters in true Antipodean style - by delivering a large consignment of beer by boat.

Floodwaters have devastated the Hunter Valley wine-growing region

The tiny town of Hinton, in the Hunter Valley wine-growing region, has been surrounded for five days by the floodwaters that have devastated parts of New South Wales after storms and torrential rain at the weekend.

The murky brown water, the authorities said, contained sewage and other pollutants, but its 400 inhabitants were more worried about a lack of beer.

A plentiful supply was required to celebrate a much-anticipated rugby league match between New South Wales and Queensland yesterday.

For days State Emergency Service volunteers had been ferrying staples such as bread and milk to the stranded town in flat-bottomed boats.

Yesterday, they added 12 kegs and 36 cartons of beer to their cargo.

"They'll be able to watch the game and have a cold one tonight," said Philip Campbell, a SES spokesman. The local watering hole, the Victoria Hotel, was in danger of becoming a real-life version of one of Australia's best known ballads, The Pub With No Beer. The song, by the late country singer Slim Dusty, laments that "there's nothing so lonesome, so morbid or drear, than to stand in a bar of a pub with no beer".

Song of the day and how I have been feeling for oh...two weeks....

The Fragile-Nine Inch Nails

she shines
in a world full of ugliness
she matters when everything is meaningless

fragile
she doesn't see her beauty
she tries to get away
sometimes
it's just that nothing seems worth saving
i can't watch her slip away

i won't let you fall apart
i won't let you fall apart
i won't let you fall apart
i won't let you fall apart

she reads the minds of all the people as they pass her by
hoping someone can see
if i could fix myseld i'd-
but it's too late for me

i wont let you fall apart
i won't let you fall apart
i won't let you fall apart
i won't let you fall apart

we'll find the perfect place to go where we can run and hide
i'll build a wall and we can keep them on the other side
...but they keep waiting
...and picking...

it's something i have to do
i was there, too
before everyhting else
i was like you

Sopranos Finale....My Take

Soprano's Finale

Well if you haven't seen the Series Finale of the Soprano's don't read this entry.

From what I've been hearing and reading, many people were disappointed with the way the Soprano's ended. Now the reason they were disappointed was because they can't follow a series or read deeper into what was shown to them.

The Soprano's got their revenge on Phil at a Gas Station where he was making calls to his family members from. What was great about this scene was that it wack came from no where. Then the SUV Phil came in ran over his head. There were two kids inside the vehicle and when Phil got ran over and their faces were like oh oh.

Sil...Poor Sil....one of my favorite characters is still in a coma. He never came out of it.

The final scene ends with Tony at a cafe listening to a jukebox. He flips through a few songs and finally settles on one. At this point my heart is racing as I know it is the final scene and there is about 4 minutes left before it ends. Tony keeps looking up (At this point we are looking through Tony's eyes)...Is someone going to wack him? A few people walk through the cafe doors. Carmella finally walks in and sits with Tony. Tony looks up...AJ walks through the door. Finally we go to an outside view and the adorable Meadow is trying to parallel park her car. I'm waiting for someone to come wack her. She tries about 4 times finally getting it right....Tony looks around the cafe. There is a weird guy looking at him with a USA cap on...The guy gets up and starts walking towards Tony but enters the bathroom..Camera goes outside Meadow is running across the street...I start seeing a car light coming towards her...NO!! Meadow is going to get run over...Well she doesn't...She opens the door...Camera points to Tony and Tony looks up...We are looking through his eyes again when..........Black......Black screen. I scramble for my remote and flip it to another channel. Other channels still work WTF!! I turn back and the credits are on. What happened?

Well a few episodes back Tony was talking to Bobby and Tony asks him something along the lines of how do you know when you've been wacked. Bobby answers him with...it just turns Black. So if you relate this with the Black screen mentioned about...Tony was wacked.

Now why didn't they show it? Well because a regular writer would just show him getting wacked with blood everywhere. A good writer will tie in other episodes and show some sort of symbolism of death.

Bada Bing Bada Boom that is the Sopranos ending.

Bo knows....Apologies??

I heard about this story a while back where the Daily Bulletin here in So Cal posted a news article about former Baseball and Football star Bo Jackson....Remember the Bo Knows commericals? Yeah I barely do either, but here is the apology for the

Public Apology to Bo Jackson

On behalf of the California Newspapers Partnership, MediaNews Group, Inc., and MediaNews Interactive, Inc., we would like to reiterate our previous unconditional apology to Mr. Bo Jackson and his family for the article titled "Forum Tackles the Dangers of Steroid Use" that appeared in both the print and online versions of the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin on March 24, 2005.

The article quoted a speaker who stated that "Bo Jackson lost his hip because of anabolic abuse." Because the reporter did not obtain corroborating evidence to support the statement, we fully retract this quote and deeply regret and apologize for any distress this may have caused to Mr. Jackson, his family, or friends. Mr. Jackson is one of the finest athletes of the past two decades, and we apologize if the article served in any way to call into question his athletic accomplishments throughout his career

**My Comment.....Bo should be happy anyone is talking about him anymore even if it is falsified information...Bo doesn't know publicity

Some crackers for my Whine (spelled intentionally wrong)

Due to work and the horrible communications that goes one at the M, when I go to sleep tonight, I will have been up a total of 41 hours straight. Why? Because I didn't want to miss a deploy that kept being pushed back and back and back from 6pm to 2am and finally at 6:00am I gave up on waiting and went to lay down; only to realize the sun was rising and I can't sleep when it the sun is out.

To those who are curious as to why I didn't go to sleep and let the phone wake me up...I would have probably received crap if I missed the call had i slept throught the ringing of my phone which I did before and is why I stayed up.

Ohh...Does anyone at the M care? Why yes they do...They cared that I didn't come in until 12 noon today and that 4 hours of productive time was lost.

Yup...Hope I don't offend anyone that has been at the M for a long long time but life at the M in my group BLOWS

What's Out

The Faux-Hawk...Too many people getting this haircut killed it and put it on the trendy list....Since I hate the trend I got rid of mine a while back and opted to go back to the combed back "cholo" hairstyle as Birdman calls it.

American Bingo Night or whatever this crap is called. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Finally...Shave and a Hair cut...two bits....People...please stop knocking on a door or cubicle this way....its stupid and its not funny....when was the last time ANYONE ever laughed at shave and a hair cut...two bits...Next time someone does that open the door and slam it in their face
